Tems prepares to drop an EP, about a year after she entered the spotlight with her hit song Try Me. It’s been quite a ride with singles like These Days, and most recently, Damages.
Tems would identify herself as an Alté artiste, in fact, to her it’s more than Alté.
But, not many Nigerian music lovers would identify her as such. Regular music lovers won’t even wrap their heads around the term “Alté”. Many would categorize her in the same genre as the likes of Joeboy, Omah Lay, and other new age artistes. Names like Odunsi, and Cruel Santino would be far from the topic.
Tems’s These Days was a good song, Damages too, was a good song but none is rated as high as Try Me. At least, not in the eyes of the fans.
But again, fans can be 2-sided and there’s some who would rate other Tem’s sounds higher than Try Me.
However, the message this passes on is that fans would love to see the talented singer do more than Try Me. For Tems, that would be adjusting, a bit maybe, to satisfy the pop thirst of Nigerian music lovers, something Try Me had.
What’s Good? Her EP will be our by September 25th and if there’s one sure thing, it’s that there will be a sound for everyone.
So, we could be getting a hotter Tems, after try me.
